The twin club or friendship club activity of Rotarians refers to a long-term partnership between two Rotary clubs operating in different countries, with the aim of promoting international understanding, friendship, and joint service projects.
Twin clubs can plan and implement projects together, visit each other, and maintain regular communication. Activities may include joint webinars, cultural exchange, friendship visits, professional cooperation, and shared humanitarian projects. The partnership is based on the clubs’ common interests and their desire to build lasting international relationships.
In our district D1420, there are 66 clubs as well as 2 satellite clubs and 2 Rotaract clubs — 43 + 1 + 1 in Finland and 23 + 1 + 1 in Estonia. It would be quite natural for us to establish friendship clubs at least between these two countries. Of course, twin clubs can be located in any country. For example, the Finlandia Hall club has twin clubs in Italy, Sweden, Germany, and Estonia. This is a wonderful addition to international Rotary activity.
