The district conference held at Kalastajatorppa was the major event of the spring. Thank you to everyone who responded to the feedback survey – this information is essential as we plan future conferences. All feedback was mainly positive, and the suggestions for improvement will be taken into account going forward. Kristi Raik (International Centre for Defence and Security) was considered the best speaker.

Both the daytime conference and the joyful evening celebration were, in my view, very successful. We accomplished this together! My thanks to each and every one who took part.

Summer is approaching, and soon we will head off for our holidays to gather strength for the service projects of the coming Rotary year. I would like to remind all clubs of the importance of properly orienting new officers and ensuring a strong start to the new season with a sufficiently comprehensive action plan.

It is advisable to include the preparation and planning of service projects in these plans.

The Finland–Estonia Rotary Service (SVRP) held its final meeting of the season, and as chair of the board I want to thank the current and incoming governors of all districts for the many joint meetings, planning sessions, and discussions on the potential merging of districts, which will continue under the leadership of the incoming governors.

The Governor has now visited almost all clubs. Last week Loviisa, and Porvoo–Borgå is still to be visited – I am awaiting an invitation from the club president. In Estonia I will visit clubs this Thursday, and at the end of the month Päikeselaager and Pärnu Invarand, as well as two clubs in Tallinn.

It has been a wonderful spring – much is happening, Rotarians are active, and several projects are underway. Excellent!

Summer greetings from Inkoo – the sun is shining and the sea has calmed after yesterday’s storm, morning coffee on the terrace.

Kind regards
Jere Jantunen
