The Rotary Herring Rowing 2026 will once again take place on the opening day of the Helsinki Herring Market on 4 October 2026. Mark your calendar and encourage your entire club to join. The day is Finland’s largest public Rotary event, a wonderfully enjoyable outdoor day, and an opportunity to do good for nature and the Baltic Sea in a relaxed way.

During the event, participants row traditional church boats or hike through Helsinki’s scenic landmark areas, enjoy a delicious herring lunch, and listen to Baltic Sea experts at a seminar. This year’s fundraising target is WWF Finland’s work on wetland restoration. Wetlands are nature’s treasure troves, teeming with life and enhancing biodiversity.
The patron of the event is the Mayor of Helsinki, Daniel Sazonov, who has led the city since June 2025.
