Hotelli Santa Claus
The Rotary Club of Rovaniemi gathered for its 30th weekly meeting today at Hotel Santa Claus in an international and happy atmosphere. Seven friends from three different Rotary clubs from Singapore visited our club. The host of the group was our friend Jimmy Ooi who visited us last December, and President Manu Pajuluoma welcomed the guests with joy.
Our guests were Jimmy Ooi and Jasbir Koh from Singapore Rotary Club, Low Siew Joon and Brian Tan from Raffles City Rotary Club and Karen Kang from Sentosa Rotary Club, Dr Param with his wife Kala. Markku Iljana of the Rovaniemi Santa Claus Rotary Club also participated in the meeting. We exchanged pennants and gifts with the clubs in the traditional way.
Youth exchange officer Jari Nykänen said that our club will send a youngster to Australia on an exchange in the next season. So we can also expect an exchange student in Lapland!
The main presentator of the evening was brother Matias Kassala, who gave an ego performance and talked about his life, studies, skills and hobbies. Again, it was great to hear that he knows how to give a rotary presentation, when Matias changed his presentation language to English in honor of the guests.
