On February 23, 1905, Paul Harris and his friends founded Rotary International. Every year this date is celebrated as Rotary’s anniversary. For well over a century, Rotarians have created access to education, strengthened communities, brought polio eradication to the brink, and improved lives around the world.

Rovaniemi Rotarians and friends of Rotarians gathered on February 23, 2024 at the Northern Lights wicket for a joint occasion to enjoy the company of friends and celebrate Rotary Day by the campfire. Coffee was cooked on the campfire and flatbreads and sausages were fried. In the evening, the snowfall turned into rain, but it didn’t bother our  team of 25 people – and we didn’t even notice it on Friday night, which was getting dark. Thanks to Kenneth, Victoria and Vilma for a great community event!

The basis of Rotary activities are local Rotary clubs, which bring together influencers to do good in their own community. As a Rotarian, you can implement meaningful charity projects near and far. There are two rotary clubs in Rovaniemi; you can find more information about us and our contact information on our website and Facebook:
