Rotary Puistometsä
The Rotary Club of Rovaniemi and the Santa Claus Rotary Club gathered today for joint cleaning tasks at Revontulilaavu on the banks of Ounasjoki in accordance with the theme of Lapland’s Nature Week.
The surroundings of the Aurora Wicket and Rotary Forest were cleaned and all the rubbish was collected from the surroundings. Even the grass needs mowing and cleaning soon.
Santa Claus rotary club exchange student Yamato is finishing his exchange year in Rovaniemi and returning to his home country of Japan. Yamato’s send-offs were also celebrated with bun coffee teas and a sausage roast. (No forest fire warning in force)
Santa Claus club president Jaana Koskela handed over the exchange certificate to Yamato with a speech. Yamato had his exchange family with him and the event was attended by a large crowd from both clubs.
