Introducing District 1420
District 1420
operates in Uusimaa and Estonia
Rotary District 1420 is one of the six Finnish Districts that is part of the international service organisation called Rotary. The District includes 47 clubs in Southern Finland and 21 clubs in Estonia. These clubs have a total of 2.600 members (03/2020). The Estonian clubs have about 600 members. You can find your closest club from the list of clubs in the Southern Finland and Estonia or by using our Club Finder here.
Each Rotary District is led by a District Governor. The District Nomination committee selects a most suitable candidate among the nominees set by the clubs, as a District Governor. The DG is appointed at the Rotary International Convention. The DG is supported by the District Board, District Committees, and the Assistant Governors (AGs) of the different areas in the District. The District Governor visits every club in the District during ones year in office or organises regional joint meetings for the clubs.
The District organises several events for the Clubs during the year. District Meeting are usually held in autumn and the festive District Conference in spring. A yearly President Elect Training Seminar (PETS) is organised for the clubs’ President Elect and Club Officers, and attending this seminar is important. In connection with the PETS, a district assembly is held to decide next year’s District officers and budget.
