Dear Rotarians,

I am writing this Governor’s letter on the ferry to Tallinn, where visits to the Haapsalu and Saaremaa clubs await. Christmas is fast approaching, but before the holidays it is a joy to participate in Tapiola club’s 40th anniversary celebration and to visit the Rae and Nömme clubs in Pärnu. December also includes HIRC’s Christmas party, Lohja club’s Christmas lunch, and many other events – surely every club has some festive gathering.

Last week, RI’s world president Francesco held a one-hour Zoom meeting with governors from zones 17 & 18 – warm thanks to him. My own term is already halfway through, and the pace only seems to increase: about 20 club visits are scheduled for the spring. It is always a pleasure to visit clubs and see how different they are. The Rotary spirit is strong everywhere, and projects and activity are central. It is wonderful to be part of Rotary, and I feel privileged to meet you during these visits. This governor’s role is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Even though meetings and calls are numerous, the work is extremely rewarding.

The spring district conference, to be held on Saturday, April 18 at Kalastajatorppa, has been carefully prepared for a long time. More information about the program and speakers will be shared at the beginning of the year. There will be plenty of interesting content and a pleasant evening together. Many thanks already to all members of the planning group.

I hope everyone can soon prepare for Christmas, enjoy the declaration of Christmas peace, and take a short break during the holidays. After Christmas, we will continue Rotary work with full energy. Finally, I want to thank all of you – committee members, assistant governors, and members of the district council – you are doing fantastic work for the common good.

Unite for good
With Christmas greetings,
