PrePELS and PELS (President Elect Learning Seminar) are mandatory for incoming Rotary year presidents, but also intended for club secretaries.
PrePELS sessions are held online on selected days. These two-hour trainings aim to provide practical tools for future club presidents and secretaries as they prepare for their year. We review duties and opportunities, get to know the incoming governor and his year’s theme, and share tips on international cooperation. PrePELS days in Finland are February 24, February 26, or March 4. PrePELS in Estonia will be held on March 3. All PrePELS are online meetings, and links will be sent to participants.
The PELS training is organized as a one-day joint event for the clubs’ future leaders. During the day, the key responsibilities of the president and secretary, Rotary membership, and the district’s activities in general are presented. In small groups, participants meet assistant governors and plan the upcoming year. The training is carried out in District 1420 by the Training Committee and the DGE, separately in Finland and Estonia.
