The summer has mostly been wonderful and sunny, apart from June. Surely everyone has had the chance to rest, swim, enjoy the sauna, culture, or whatever has felt good. For me, summer, light, and sunshine provide the energy we need to move things forward.
Now our focus is already strongly on Rotary activities, because our WHEEL keeps turning all the time, and we Rotarians, as “People of Action”, are constantly engaged in meetings and different service projects.
August is Membership and New Club Development Month, an excellent time to consider the development of the club.
The District Council held the Rotary Year 2025–26 KICK OFF seminar at Hanasaari, attended also by assistant governors and committee chairs. There is more about that below. I must, however, highlight the inspiring energy and cooperation between Finland and Estonia, which carries us forward.
As governor, I was invited to the Tallinn Vanalinn summer celebration/season opening, a very warm and friendly event with partners. More than 80 people attended, and we had many great conversations. I had the honor of giving a short speech, for which I received positive feedback and felt warmly welcomed. Thank you, President Vahur Ausmees and the entire Tallinn Vanalinn club.
Collaboration brings us much joy, and through cooperation, we can accomplish a lot. Many service projects are easier to carry out when several clubs work together.
In the district, we will introduce an updated annual calendar, which is both visual and informative.
Let’s continue the good cooperation and participate in great numbers in the Silakkasoutu (Rowing for Baltic Herring) or Silakkapatikka (Herring Hike) on 5 October.
Kind regards,

DG Jere Jantunen
DG 2025-2026, District D1420
SVRP Ry Chairman 2025-2026
