Who We Are

Who We Are

Leppävirta Rotary Club is an active Rotary club in North Savonia. We gather on Tuesdays at 5 pm (excluding the summer holidays and Christmas seasons) at Kinnunen Juhlahuoneisto to meet each other, hear interesting presentations and promote good things in our own place. We also visit various destinations. We support Rotary International humanitarian projects, participate in youth exchanges, and promote neighborhood well-being.

Our club was founded on August 27, 1963. Our club has 26 members and four honorary members. We are part of District D1430. http://www.rotarypiiri1430.fi

A Hobby with a Purpose

We concentrate on supporting Youth Exchange. We help youngsters to participate in the Rotary International Youth Exchange every year. We believe that youth exchange is the best grassroots internationalization and peace education.

We also highlight important social development needs. We have implemented several projects to improve well-being of local people.

We set a high value on the efforts of Rotary International and on this organisation’s valuable work in eradicating polio from the world. Rotary has invested a lot of voluntary work and more than 1.2 billion US dollars for this work only.

An Influential International Organisation

Rotary was established 23 February 1905 in Chicago. It is an international service and charity organisation. The homestead of Rotary International is Evanston, Illinois. Our motto is Service Above Self.
