What is Rotary?

What is rotary?

Rotary is a global service organization based on four fundamental principles:

  1. Friendship: Rotary encourages people to build lasting friendships and cultural understanding from all around the world.
  2. Professional Development: The organization aims to promote professional and ethical growth among its members, which positively reflects in their professional lives.
  3. Service: Rotary’s central goal is to undertake service projects locally and globally that help individuals and communities, such as improving healthcare and fighting poverty.
  4. Internationalism: Rotary’s work extends beyond borders and cultural differences, striving to promote world peace and understanding.

In addition, Rotary is widely known for its youth exchange program, which offers young people the opportunity to experience cultural exchange and learn new languages. Rotary International’s student exchange program allows young individuals to spend a year abroad, living in another culture, which fosters understanding between countries and promotes the personal growth of young people.
