There are six Rotary districts in Finland, including Estonia. The district is headed by a district governor.<\/p>\n
The governor of our own district 1410 for the 2026-2027 financial year is DG Sakari Alaranta<\/strong> of RC Liedon Vanhalinna.<\/p>\n The work of the governor is supported by a district council, a number of committees and working groups, and by assistant governors for the district’s various subdivisions. The clubs petition for a governor, and the district appointing committee appoints the most suitable candidate for governor from among the candidates. The governor-elect is appointed at the Rotary International World Conference.<\/p>\n The district organizes several events for the clubs throughout the year, the most important of which is the training seminar for incoming club presidents and officers (PELS).<\/p>\n The district meeting is usually held in the autumn and the more festive district conference in the spring.<\/p>\n The district governor visits all clubs in his district during the fiscal year.
