Rotary Club of T\u00f6\u00f6l\u00f6 is an active rotary club in the center of Helsinki. We come together every Thursday in a lunch meeting at o\u2019clock 11.45-13.00 at the restaurant Ostrobotnia (Botta) on its festivity floor (second floor). Our meetings are always opened with a brisk song led by our maestro and in which we all participate. After a nutritious and plentiful lunch, we listen to a high quality presentation given by our own sister, brother or a visiting lecturer.<\/span><\/p>\n Rotary Club of T\u00f6\u00f6l\u00f6 is one of Helsinki\u2019s oldest and most vital clubs. In our meetings there is a lively and almost noisy atmosphere. It is a sign of enthusiasm and the power of sisterly\/brotherly conversations. Our membership count is steady or slightly rising. The club has somewhat over seventy members. In every meeting there are typically around thirty members present. In addition to the weekly meetings, we have other gatherings typically one in the spring and one in the autumn.<\/span><\/p>\n Rotary Club of T\u00f6\u00f6l\u00f6 was founded originally in Viipuri in 1931. It is the third oldest rotary club in Finland. At that time Viipuri was the second largest city in Finland and the name of the club was Rotary Club of Viipuri. By the name Rotary Club of T\u00f6\u00f6l\u00f6 it has operated since 16.5.1949. As a member of the Rotary International Rotary Club of Viipuri was taken on 1.4.1931. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Rotary was established 23 February 1905 in Chicago. It is an international service and charity organisation. The homestead of Rotary International is Evanston, Illinois. Our motto is Service Above Self.<\/p>\n Rotary has 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.
