Rotary Club H\u00e4meenlinna-Verkatehdas is an active Rotary club located in H\u00e4meenlinna, in Southern Finland.\u00a0 We have meetings on every second Wednesday mornings at Cafe Laurell twice during the month. We meet in order to see each other, listen to interesting presentations and promote doing good in our town. We support humanitarian projects carried out by the international Rotary organisation, participate in Youth Exchange, and promote the well-being of our vicinity.<\/span><\/p>\n Our club was established 24 October, 2006 and we belong to District 1390.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We concentrate on supporting Youth Exchange. We help youngsters to participate in the Rotary International Youth Exchange every year, We believe that youth exchange is the best grassroots internationalization and peace education.<\/p>\n We also highlight important social development needs. By our project ”Ajetaan i\u00e4kk\u00e4\u00e4n iloksi” we provide to senior citizens possibility to visit interesting places in H\u00e4meenlinna area. We arrange yearly a concert with music school Sibeliusopisto where the young student get possibility to train and present their skills.<\/p>\n We set a high value on the efforts of Rotary International and on this organisation\u2019s valuable work in eradicating polio from the world. Rotary has invested a lot of voluntary work and more than 1.2 billion US dollars for this work only.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rotary was established 23 February 1905 in Chicago. It is an international service and charity organisation. The homestead of Rotary International is Evanston, Illinois. Our motto is Service Above Self.<\/p>\n Rotary has 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.
