Our Rotary district 1420 is one of five Rotary districts belonging to the Finnish international Rotary service organization. The district includes 44 clubs from southern Finland and 23 clubs from Estonia. These clubs have a total of 2,300 members.<\/p>\n

Rotary is a global network of volunteers who want to make the world a better place and fix things that make life difficult for people. We operate both locally and internationally.<\/p>\n

We want to tackle today’s acute challenges by implementing projects in our own towns and international projects together with other clubs.<\/p>\n

    Rotary clubs are the basic units of operations<\/h3>\n

    The purpose of a Rotary Club is to realize Rotary’s goal and carry out successful service projects.\u00a0 Rotary clubs join forces to implement projects that support sustainable development, the impact of which is really felt at home and abroad.<\/p>\n

    Rotary district is a regional administrative and service unit<\/h3>\n

    The task of the Rotary district is to support, inspire and enable the success of the Rotary clubs in the district and to act as an effective link between international Rotary activities and the clubs.\u00a0 The goal is that all rotary clubs operating in \u200b\u200bthe district in Finland and Estonia are vibrant and committed to Rotary’s goals.<\/p>\n

    District officials<\/h4>\n

    The district is headed by the governor supported by the district council, the assistant governors (AG) and district committees of the different areas of the district and other officials.<\/p>\n

    Officials and teams of the Rotary District 1420<\/p>\n

    • are a seamless part of rotary in our district<\/li>\n
    • form a service team to help clubs realize their aspirations<\/li>\n
    • inspire Rotarians to strive towards the vision and strategy of the Rotary International<\/li>\n

      The District Governor<\/h4>\n

      The district governor is an officer of the Rotary International. His\/her task is to promote activities in accordance with RI’s goals by supporting, directing, guiding and inspiring the clubs in the district. The next governor will be appointed at the World Conference of the Rotary International.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      The District Council<\/h4>\n

      The district council supports the Governor in carrying out his\/her duties. The district council acts as the board of the registered association, the Rotarypiiri 1420 ry \u2013 Rotarydistrikt 1420 rf.<\/p>\n

      Assistant Governors (AG)<\/h4>\n

      The district 1420 is divided into 12 AG areas, each with a trained Assistant Governor. The task of the assistant governors is to assist the Governor, and the District Governor Elect in the administrative tasks of the district and in their planning, as well as to support the activities of the clubs in the area and to ensure that the clubs have timely information about the goals of RI and the district.<\/p>\n

      To implement the district’s goals and the action plan, the district’s management has appointed committees for both ongoing administrative tasks and tasks in line with the district’s strategy.<\/p>\n

      Rotary areas and zones<\/h3>\n

      Rotary is divided into 34 zones worldwide. Finland belongs to the Northern European rotary Zone 17B, which also includes Estonia as part of rotary district 1420 and Russia.<\/p>\n

      Regions are a cooperative entity formed by two or more zones.<\/p>\n

      Different training sessions and seminars are organized annually by the zone or region<\/p>\n

      The Rotary International (RI) forms the strategic level of Rotary activities.<\/p>\n

      We serve others, promote honesty, increase international understanding, goodwill and peace through the camaraderie between the business world, professional groups and society’s leaders.<\/p>\n

      (a) support Rotary clubs and districts in implementing programs and activities which further the mission of Rotary<\/p>\n
