26 years ago, the Nastola Rotary Club built an 84-square-meter log school at the Skalluvaara Reindeer Separation Site in Utsjoki, Finland, to support S\u00e1mi children’s schooling. Club members have also been renovating the school building afterwards.<\/p>\n

Children attend the Skalluvaara school in the autumn during reindeer separation season. When parents work in reindeer separation, thanks to the school house, the children can be with their families and go to school on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

The Skalluvaara project shows the long-term commitment of Nastola Rotarians: from idea to building the log house and from follow-up to aftercare. The project continues.<\/p>\n
